- Labor Statistics from StateMaster.com
If you haven’t been to Statemaster.com you might find some of their statistics interesting. For example, according to the American Community Survey, in 2004 70.4% of our workers are ”Private Wage and Salary Workers” meaning, they are “Civilian Employed” as opposed to employed by the government. Does this mean that nearly 30% of our jobs are government jobs in Hawaii?
Only five other states had more folks employed by the government.
Also interesting, 68.4% Percent of “Workers 16 Years and Over Travel to Work by Car, Truck, or Van–Drove Alone” in 2004. Does this indicate a significant opportunty for telecommuting?
