Sustainable Living Educational Series Returns to Hilo

In November, the Sustainable Living Educational Series Returns to Hilo, Hawai`i

The best educators in sustainability will convene in Hilo, Hawai`i to teach a series of classes on Sustainable Living. Each Thursday night in November a different class will feature a straight-forward approach to living a more sustainable lifestyle on Hawai`i Island. 

  • Rainwater Harvesting - catching your own water.
  • Alternative Power Systems - generating your own power.
  • Organic Gardening - growing your own food.
  • Sustainability 101 - living a more sustainable lifestyle.
Anyone interested in living a more sustainable lifestyle should attend this event. These classes will also provide a starting point for anyone interested in learning about green jobs. Green career information will be offered in each class. Anyone interested in jobs in the green economy should attend these classes. Specific information will be provided in each class to help folks prepare for a greener economy.
Daniel Morii, Director of  the Sustainable Living Institute said, 

“We’re really happy to work with organizations and students in all areas of sustainability. These so-called green classes are the building blocks for a renewed sense of sustainability on the Island. These courses offer long-term benefits for Hawai`i Island and the folks that attend these classes.”

This series provides a pathway for folks to learn the basics of self sustainability. Folks interested in green jobs should attend to learn about green jobs on Hawai`i Island. Community leaders and decision makers will learn about recent trends and opportunities for sustainable systems in their communities.
